using your runner's resilience
on the verge of success
with extra satisfaction
Did you realise how many people give up on their dreams too early? As hurdles and problems start to arise it is human nature to listen to that inner voice saying ”this was a bad idea”, “it’s never going to work”. Whilst there is a lot to be said for knowing when to quit on a bad idea, there are also so many people out there who have quit at the wrong time. Most people don’t quit when things are going well or progress is easy. People quit when it starts to get tough, when it starts to get uncomfortable, when they start to listen to that voice saying “you’re never going to make it”.
What we know from running and what holds true in life and business is that most people quit when they are close to victory. They invest so much time and effort to get to a certain point, but fail to see things through.
As runners we have a unique advantage of knowing we have what it takes when the going gets tough. We have already tapped into our mental strength to keep going and persevere. We know what it takes to break through the pain and challenges to come out the other side.
In this mile we explore how to deploy your mental strength from running in other areas of life – to give us a distinct advantage in running a better life.
I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy… I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it.
